Delta Gamma Philosophy
Delta Gamma offers to women of all ages a rich heritage; continuity based on sound and tested principals of personal integrity, personal responsibility and intellectual honesty.
Delta Gamma's primary purpose is to create an environment for its members in which lasting friendships are established and in which members find the process, the experiences and the disciplines that will stimulate clear thought. Its aim is to foster an atmosphere in which women will develop a deeper love and consideration for mankind, a more profound understanding of the purpose of life and a basic wisdom upon which to build their lives.
Delta Gamma's purpose is accomplished through planned collegiate and alumnae programs that provide intellectual motivation, the opportunity for graciousness in daily living, and community awareness which will enrich the lives of members and instill in them a respect for the enduring values to be gained from the Fraternity.

Delta Gamma in Popular Culture
As one of the oldest and largest women's fraternities, Delta Gamma has played a major role on the small and silver screens! Take a look at some references to Delta Gamma in history's popular culture.

The comedy Legally Blonde (2001), starring Reese Witherspoon, is based off of Delta Gamma. In the opening scene, we see the Delta Nu crest which resembles the Delta Gamma crest. Instead of the cream-colored rose, Bruiser's head sits at the top. To prepare for her role as Elle, Reese spent two weeks spending time with members of DG, as she did not wish to portray a stereotypical airhead sorority image. She states on the DVD commentary that they were all very kind and polite, and she enjoyed her time with them.

In episode #152 of Happy Days, Richie Cunningham is crowned Delta Gamma king while Potsie and his band are playing at a DG party. In an earlier episode, there is Delta Gamma kissing booth for charity at Arnold's where Lori Beth, Richie's girlfriend, is participating as a DG. Later that day, Potsie goes to the Delta Gamma house to talk to Jennifer.

In the opening scene of Bride Wars (2009), Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson attend a wedding reception where it is announced that they were members of Delta Gamma.
